CRUSHING ON VELVET

For as long as I can remember I have been crushing on velvet. There is just something about the soft luxurious distinct feel of velvet. Every year without fail we see this fabric on the catwalk, and this season is no exception. Whether you prefer a dainty stiletto or a block heel, there is an abundance of shoe options. These Velvet Sequin adorned purple stilettos from Zara are one of my favourites. I love how they look more high-end luxury than they really are. They can be dressed down with jeans, but I opted for a smarter look when I wore them to church.

There are also velvet trainers (sneakers to our American friends) that look plush and luxurious. Even bags haven’t escaped the Velvet treatment. I came across this weekend bag on one of my trips to TK Maxx. It goes perfectly with my velvet Carvela Kicks from Kurt Geiger. Don’t you think so?

If you haven’t done so already, now is the time to invest in some footwear that will never go out of style. What do you think about velvet? Do you like it? Would you wear it?
