The World Reimagined

The World Reimagined public exhibition August - October 2022. A sculptural trail of globe artworks launched in seven cities across the United Kingdom to transform how we understand the Transatlantic Slave Trade and it’s impact on us all.

Artwork created by Asiko entitled ‘The Road to Freedom.’ A series of 3 portraits of the black abolitionists, Olaudah Equiano, Mary Prince & Ottobah Cugoano who lived in the U.K. between 1745 - 1833. The artwork re-imagines the 3 abolitionists in their European dress incorporated with aspects of their African heritage.
